How do I care for my new tattoo?

Whenever you get home, remove your bandage and immediately wash your tattoo thoroughly with hot water and antibacterial soap. Repeat the washing process until the tattoo no longer feels slimy. Once the tattoo is cleaned in this way, pat dry with a clean towel. Clean your tattoo once per day. Protect your tattoo from dirt, sand, or other irritatants or infectants by wearing loose clothing over it. Do not re-wrap your tattoo. Do not submerge your tattoo in chlorinated water or natural streams, lakes, rivers, etc. for four to six weeks after you get your tattoo. Apply small amounts of non-scented lotion, such as Curél, as needed. Just relax, keep your tattoo clean, and use a little lotion when it gets too dry and it will heal perfectly.

If your tattoo needs touched up, the first touch-up is free within 1 year of your initial appointment. Beyond this time frame, touching up a tattoo is often unnecessary.
